Mysticism is all about direct encounter, be it with God, nature, or the deepest essence of ourselves. Chaplaincy is spiritual caregiving, accompaniment through the wilderness of spiritual and/or religious living. Mystical Chaplaincy is a partnership– a direct encounter with the Deep, that we can share together. I am here to walk with you through the forest, glide alongside you in the waters, and witness your unique spiraling Inwards, outwards, down and up, through and through.
My Spiral-With-You Approach
-
SPIRAL
The spiral teaches that different moments call for different practices, traditions, and approaches to spiritual life. The spiral reminds that practice deepens with repetition, and that there is wisdom in regularity. And yet the spiral demonstrates that even when the words, prayers, and rituals can stay the same, the inner experience is ever in flux. And in the constancy of that flux, there is something enduring, that is always with you. The spiral allows for ways of relating to life experiences to shift, morph and transform over time. The spiral invites running and returning, fleeing and homecoming, experimentation and creativity, rupture and repair, innovation and healing. The spiral circles around a center, but never returns to the same exact place twice.

WITH
Alongside. Accompaniment. Non-hierarchical. Also, not fixing and not overtaking. My spiral doesn’t join yours, but parallels alongside you so that you have a partner in your journey. With your permission and consent, we enter a dance together. My spiral comes alongside your spiral, my interiority alongside your interiority. The dance is our relationality, circling around a center. What we are circling around shall emerge in our time together.

YOU
You are you, You is the most expansive part of you. You is also the divine, the mystery, the soul, the deepest and truest part of your Self. And, You is a vast enough swath to include all the parts of you that reside within, the wounded and the shy, the young child and the frozen in trauma, the activist and the organizer, the storyteller and the scientist, whoever lives within you, longing to be seen and witnessed by that larger You, is welcome in our dance, in the encounter of our two spirals.
